For the University of Jyväskylä Scholarship in Finland applications are invited. This scholarship covers the entire cost of tuition for a foreign student to attend school in Finland. The University of Jyväskylä awards scholarships to its top overseas Master’s degree students that pay the cost of tuition.
Only the same online application you use to apply for admission to JYU’s Master’s programmes qualifies you to apply for the scholarship. After submitting an admissions application, you cannot apply for the scholarship.
An applicant may be accepted into more than one programme at JYU, but only one programme may receive the scholarship per person, based on the choice the applicant indicated on the application form.

The top candidates who are responsible for paying tuition may be eligible for JYU Scholarships. If you are one of the following, you may apply for a JYU scholarship (Finland Scholarship or JYU tuition price scholarship):

Scholarships in Finland
A one-time award of EUR 5,000 plus one scholarship that pays the entire cost of tuition for two years (Finland Scholarship)

Scholarships for JYU tuition
Scholarships for JYU tuition are given out to help with expenditures. Based on entrance requirements relevant to each Master’s programme, there are two categories and various scholarships offered.
Two scholarships paying 100% of the tuition are available for each Master’s programme, and four scholarships covering 50%. The JYU tuition scholarships are given out for a two-year period.
Scholarships in Finland
JYU’s Finland Scholarships are a component of a larger national scholarship scheme. According to the entrance requirements for each Master’s programme, these scholarships are given to the applicants with the highest academic standing.
The Finland Scholarship provides a one-time payment of EUR 5,000 for living expenses that will be paid to the student after they have begun their studies as well as 100% tuition coverage for the first year of studies.
All winners of the Finland Scholarship who have shown adequate academic progress (i.e., earned at least 55 ECTS credits during their first year) are also given a 100% tuition price scholarship by JYU for their second study year.
Scholarships at the Mathematics and Science Faculty
The 500 euro monthly scholarship is given to cover living expenses in Finland. After enrolling at JYU, students enrolled to a Master’s programme who plan to begin their studies in 2023 may apply for this scholarship.
