Scholarship Qualifications:

 

  • A formal memorandum of understanding or institutional collaboration and student exchange agreement between the Canadian school and the candidate’s home institution is preferred but not required for undergraduate applications involving research-based experiences.You will be expected to submit a Letter of Invitation from the University of Alberta professor who has consented to supervise you in lieu of an agreement.

 

 

  • An inter-institutional agreement is preferred but not required for graduate admissions.Graduate applications including a new or established partnership between academics from a Canadian university and the candidate’s home institution will be approved if there isn’t an exchange agreement in place.

 

  • Candidates should use the University of Alberta International Government of Canada Scholarships Research Application Form to send their applications and all necessary supporting documentation directly to University of Alberta International.

 

  • At the time of application, candidates must be enrolled full-time in the degree programme they wish to pursue.For example, the student will not be considered eligible for the current scholarship year if the application period comes between the student’s enrolment in a Master’s and PhD programme. It is advised that you apply the following year if this describes you.

 

  • Scholarships are not renewed and cannot be postponed.

 

  • Candidates who have never won a scholarship through any Global Affairs Canada programme will be given priority.

 

  • Scholarship recipients and Canadian institutions are not subject to taxes on their awards.

Application Method

 

Before finding a host professor or supervisor, prospective recipients of the University of Alberta Government of Canada Scholarships must confirm that they fit the program’s eligibility requirements. Send these details to any instructors with whom you might like to collaborate:

 

 

  • Your entire name and contact details

 

  • Your native nation and university

 

  • Regardless of whether you are a graduate (master’s or doctorate) or undergraduate (bachelor) student at the moment

 

  • Which year are you in your degree programme?

 

  • The whole name of the scholarship programme for which you intend to apply

 

  • Your desired research duration (4 months, 5-6 months, 8 months)

 

  • Your preferred start date (with a completion date of February 1st annually)
