Job Summary:

The Department of English is looking for a full-time lecturer with expertise teaching General Education courses such as introductory literature, first-year composition, and more. The candidate will teach both face-to-face and online courses, supporting defined student learning outcomes while also promoting departmental philosophy and curricular objectives. Department teachers supervise graduate teaching assistants and engage in other community service initiatives. Successful applicants will join a thriving community dedicated to professional development, curriculum design, and student-centered instruction. Instructors deliver four courses each semester.

Minimum qualifications:

Has at least a master’s degree from an approved university in an applicable specialisation, or comparable qualifications based on professional experience, and is otherwise qualified to fulfil assigned activities. The appointee may teach, conduct research and creative projects, and/or provide service and other relevant activities, but is not eligible for tenure.

Position Qualifications:

A master’s degree in English from an approved university in a suitable field of specialisation, or comparable qualifications based on professional experience, and the ability to complete assigned activities. Teaching experience in General Education courses such as introductory literature, first-year composition, and other writing-intensive classes. Knowledge of current best practices for teaching in both in-person and online settings. demonstrated proficiency in incorporating technology into teaching practice.

Preferred Qualifications.

A background in current pedagogy is preferred.
