This position helps to Amato Gelato Cafe’s success by aiding the manager in carrying out retail operations throughout planned shifts. This role assigns and delegate responsibilities to teammates so that they may build and sustain the Amato Gelato Cafe experience of Italian culture and lifestyle for our consumers. The Cafeteria Supervisor is responsible for modelling and acting in accordance with Amato Gelato’s guiding principles.

Job Duties:

• manage and direct café employees, and assign daily responsibilities.
• Work with the management team to implement effective division of duties.
• Provide hands-on leadership and support to café employees.
• Schedule and change personnel schedules based on operational needs.
• Ensure quality control and adhere to food safety and handling guidelines.
• Support the safety officer in enforcing regulations, legislation, and established policies.
• undertake routine inspections of incoming food and beverage goods to ensure quality;
• Prepare, calibrate, and monitor food and beverage machinery to achieve optimal output levels.
• Perform inventory and order supplies (beverages and food products).
• Train and evaluate new staff members.
• Ensure the greatest quality of client service;
• Respond to client complaints or concerns.
• Keep track of sales, trash, labour costs, and cash reports.
• Prepare shift summary reports and convey daily goals and progress to management.
• able to work periodically in a walk-in freezer.
• Capable of lifting boxes weighing up to 15 pounds.
• Support personnel during busy business hours and be able to cover shifts as needed.
• Complete knowledge of café menu items and preparation.

Capable of supervising 5-10 personnel, including food service counter attendants and preparers.

Terms of employment: permanent full-time, 35 hours per week

The language of work is English.

Wage: $18.00 per hour (plus gratuities).

Start date: As soon as possible.

Working conditions: morning, day, evening, weekend.

Skill requirements:

• There is no educational requirement.
• 3-5 years of experience in the food service or hospitality industry.
• : ProServe programme.
