Core Network Communication Supervisor

This position comprises directing a team of networking and software engineers tasked with creating industry-leading and novel vehicle network architectures for Ford’s global fleet of vehicles. The development of network services and automated verification software programmes that enable highly efficient and effective network communications solutions is a critical component of Ford’s ongoing digital progress.

 

You will have…

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer information science, or a similar discipline, or a combination of education and comparable experience
  • 5+ years of SW development experience.
  • Two or more years of Ethernet-related IEEE 803.x experience.
  • Two or more years of experience building and/or using network tools.
  • Two or more years of experience leading a team of engineers or computer scientists

 

Even better, you might have

 

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Autosar expertise and experience
  • 10+ years of SW development experience.
  • 5+ years of Ethernet-related IEEE 803.x experience.
  • 5+ years of experience building and/or utilising network tools
  • 5+ years of experience leading a group of engineers or computer scientists

What are you going to do?

Lead a team of network communications engineers tasked with creating, releasing, and maintaining fundamental network communications software APIs, design specifications, and databases for Ford’s global fleet. Ethernet, Controller Area Network (CAN), and Local Interconnect Network (LIN) are the most basic network components.

Create next-generation car networking design solutions.

Develop automatic cyber security attribute generation software programmes.

Develop communication message list validation programmes.

Create, maintain, and evolve new tools and automated procedures for developing, managing, and testing network solutions.

Ensure that Ford participates, uses, and influences relevant IEEE, ISO, and SAE network-related committees.

Work with and support Ford’s electronics and software development teams to provide high-quality vehicle connectivity solutions.

Maintain the legacy core and vehicle programmes’ network message lists, and release new ones as appropriate.
