Job Overview

 

We are now looking for an OB Technician II for our Delivery Room.

 

Location: Highland Park Hospital, Highland Park, Illinois.

Hours: PRN 2300–0730/1900–0730

Night shift.

 

Responsibilities

In this position, you will:

 

  • Assist the registered nurse with direct patient care and other unit-related responsibilities. The OBT is a member of the unit staff who reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager or a designated staff nurse.

 

  • handle scrub tech chores, help maintain supplies and equipment, occasionally handle secretarial duties, and promote overall neatness and safety on the unit.

 

  • Assist with the assembly and dispersal of sterile field supplies, instruments, and equipment needed for the surgical process.

 

  • Sets up materials and instruments to prepare for the surgery.

 

  • Assist with wrapping the operation site.

 

  • Anticipate needs and pass instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies to the surgical team as indicated by surgeons’ preference, method, procedure, and specific requirements.

 

  • Under the supervision of the assigned shift supervisor and medical personnel. Guidelines cover all departmental, personnel, and hospital policies and procedures. Patient ages served include adults, adolescents, and babies.

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • BLS/CPR certification is required.
  • Good status on the IDPH Nurse Aide Registry is necessary.
  • Nursing Assistant certification from the State of Illinois, good standing on the IDPH healthcare worker registry, or at least one clinical rotation in nursing school.
