Title: Engineering Supervisor – Power Electronics – 104750 Location: Onsite/Remote: Partial Remote

 

This position may be placed in Fargo, ND or Cary, NC at the discretion of the hiring manager. This may be determined by the candidate’s background, experience, and proficiency.

 

At the moment, this employment is suitable for a flexible work schedule arrangement. The arrangement is subject to change and may be postponed for training or other job acclimation considerations.

 

 

Your Responsibilities

 

As an Engineering Supervisor, Power Electronics for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group in Fargo, ND or Cary, NC, you will be in charge of a team of design engineers, students, and outside labour who will focus on component development for our Power Electronics product line and application of these components in electrified vehicle systems. Furthermore, you will:

 

  • Supervise an engineering team that focuses on power electronics systems engineering, application engineering, and component design (inverters, converters, battery management systems, and so on).

 

  • People management entails building and leading an engineering team, as well as mentoring skills and career development for team members.

 

  • Lead the development of project schedules for your functional areas, as well as engineering resource planning, project oversight, phase gate reviews, annual budget planning, and monthly project financial reviews.

 

  • Assist with product development and technology. planning a road map

What Skills Are Required?

 

  • 8 years of expertise in electronic design product development, including technology/product innovation.

 

  • 5 years or more of experience decomposing high-level product development milestones into lower-level design activities.

 

  • 5 years or more of experience in electronics development for hostile environments, environmental qualification, and design for manufacturability is required.

 

  • 3 or more years of experience in engineering supervision or project and team leadership.

 

  • Good writing and verbal communication skills are required to support team and project leadership tasks, including representing the product line in strategic conversations and providing project status reports to management.

  • Understanding of functional safety requirements and design principles

 

Education

 

You should ideally have a degree or similar related work experience in the following areas:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field
