JOB SUMMARY

 

The Story Café is a Richmond-based fast-casual fine-dining restaurant that focusses on offering high-quality food and good service. We are searching for an experienced individual that is driven, motivated, and has a passion for cooking while also being a team player.

The Story Café treats every employee as if they were a family member, and they want to ensure their well-being and safety while working.

Aside from group perks, each employee will be paid tips and given a staff dinner, coffee, and drinks during their shift.

POSITION: Dinner cooks from 2:45pm to 12am, including Saturdays and Sundays.

Schedule: Full-Time Shifts.

Shifts last around 8 hours or more per day.

JOB DUTIES:

Make sure the preparation station and kitchen are properly set up and stocked.

Prepare the basic components of each item on the menu by chopping veggies, cutting meat, and making sauce.

Report to the executive chef and follow the instructions.

Ensure that food processing and storage spaces fulfil health and safety requirements.

Clean up the preparation surfaces and deal with any leftovers.

Stock your goods and supplies.

Prepare food items with the assistance of the kitchen crew.

REQUIREMENT:

At least two years of kitchen expertise; fine dining experience is an asset.

Able to work in a hectic, fast-paced atmosphere.

English language proficiency level: proficient or intermediate

Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident preferred; if work permit – must be able to work for more than six months.

We sponsor LMIA, but only if you are already in Canada.

Expected weekly hours: 20-40

Supplemental pay options include tips.

Requirements for Richmond, BC include a reliable commute or a plan to relocate prior to starting work.

Experience in cooking: 3 years (needed).

Required licenses/certifications include Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler, or equivalent.
