The Chef de Cuisine at Jean-Georges Restaurant

Facilitates kitchen operation organisation and provides leadership and management for the culinary department by building efficient procedures and processes to ensure that the standards established are met. Maintains quality and portion consistency control systems and raises awareness of the necessity of food preparation. Manages and trains a large culinary workforce. Manages labour costs and tactics to ensure the profitability of the restaurant.

  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent and varied cooking abilities

  • Excellent leadership and management abilities
  • Excellent understanding of, and enthusiasm for, local, organic, and sustainable ingredients.
  • A food handler’s licence is an asset.
