In this role…

The position is for a Technical Expert – Display and Display Electronics Full-Service Supplier Electronic Control Units in the Electrical Engineering Hardware organisation. You will be in charge of managing Ford’s electronic display module technical strategy and quality/design sign offs.

 

You will have…

BS Engineering degree
Ten years or more of direct experience with vehicle electronics.
5 years of extensive technical experience with displays and display electronics.

Even better, you might have…

MS Engineering degree.
Excellent programme management, mentorship, and written/oral communication abilities.
Strong supplier relationship abilities for coaching and leading module engineers and suppliers as needed.

What will you do?

Lead the technological strategy for Ford Electronic Display Modules.
Oversees Ford’s display technological strategy, utilising extensive expertise of display physics and technology.
Lead technical definition of the display system’s optical performance.
Provide Ford with technical guidance on display configurations for automobiles.
Work directly with Studio personnel to ensure great designs that are durable and manufacturable.
Lead technical assessments with suppliers to ensure compliance with design specifications.
Document failure modes and provide feedback for improved design requirements.
Lead the sourcing of Ford electronic display modules.
Form strong alliances with strategic suppliers, particularly Tier 2 and Tier 3 supplies.
When sourcing certain programmes, make sure to meet all of the requirements.
Specify your preferred Tier 2/3 crucial components.
Create methods for early design evaluation and risk identification.
Lead author of display specifications and validation documents.

Create extensive analytical requirements documents with verification measures for presentation.
Define actual verification procedures and tools, including metrology.
Lead subsystem FMEAs and ensure that important failure modes are addressed in requirements.
Create supplier review checklists for programme reviews by module design and release engineers.
Capture, codify, and display electrical lessons learnt.
Lead Display warranty and programme design issues were resolved.

Lead the resolution of functional issues found in displays.
Lead the warranty investigation of display field concerns.
Consult with suppliers about design and manufacturing improvements.
Create thorough Bill of Process papers for important industrial operations. and identify the associated significant and critical traits.
Review and accept supplier in-cycle design revisions.
Conduct deep dive audits on display module data results at critical vehicle programme milestones.

Ensure that specifications are properly met during supplier implementations.
Check CAE and physical test results with vendors.
Ensure that testing adhered to the required norms and requirements.
Evaluate and approve supplier FMEAs.
Examine early programme assumptions to discover new possible noise sources, customer usage, and failure mode concerns.
Ensure that Ford and industry lessons learned are recorded in the associated quality history.
Confirm that all Design Rules and Requirements have been assessed at critical milestones.

Lead the development and delivery of training, seminars, and mentorship to help Ford internal team members build a greater range of display knowledge.
