Supervisor of Guest Services

A Guest Service Supervisor is what we are now seeking to fill. The Guest Services Supervisor (GSS), a personable and engaging position, has a significant influence on how each person enters our establishment. Our lobby sets the tone for a visitor’s experience and creates the crucial first impression. The chosen applicant will support the front office team’s everyday operations in our magnificent hotel while collaborating with the guest services manager. When necessary, this person will work during the day, afternoon, and night shifts to support and teach the team in guest-related and room operations. This position calls for a person who enjoys working shifts that rotate.

Important Responsibilities

You will: Report to the guest services manager or a designee;

  • ensures that the Guest Services run well even when the Guest Services Manager is not present;
  • serves as an example for the Guest Services Team’s service vision and standards;
  • oversees the processing of payments from customers during check-in and check-out, and assists team members as necessary;
  • supports the team’s training on systems, security protocols, and service standards, and ensures they have the tools and equipment they need to perform their jobs well;
  • promotes collaboration and high-quality service through regular interaction with various departments and channels. Accounting, Revenue Management, Sales, Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, and Maintenance are important departmental relationships.
  • examines the upkeep and proper communication of accurate room status information;
  • answers customer issues swiftly, effectively, and politely;
  • assists with hiring, performance reviews, coaching, payroll, scheduling, and training for all members of the Guest Services team;
  • comprehends and complies with all laws, norms, and regulations relating to health and safety. To guarantee that departmental equipment is maintained and used safely, report unsafe acts or hazardous conditions;
  • acts as a role model for wearing all necessary personal protective equipment, participates in the fire safety plan, and leads by example in promoting health and safety on the site;
  • various tasks as allocated, such as supporting team members in their positions during busy times.

 

What We’re Searching For

 

  • Preferably, prior managerial experience in a position that involves working with guests or in the hotel industry;
  • Highly sociable; at ease interacting with all clients, visitors, suppliers, and team members;
  • thrives in a high-pressure, quick-paced atmosphere while remaining calm and objective;
  • demonstrated capacity to work in a team atmosphere with various departments/divisions
  • Excellent communication abilities in both writing and speaking are necessary;
  • A plus is being knowledgeable about computer operating systems like Opera and Maestro, as well as MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts as needed by management and operations, including but not limited to days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
